Live and Learn

I just asked Derek what I should blog about and he says, "Life." One word and yet so profound. He's good at that.
And so I will blog about life.

This past weekend was the worst ever. We gave our puppy Tally away to a new home. Despite all the drama it caused, we know this was the best option for her. She'll be getting more attention, better care and hopefully a bigger backyard to run around and play in. I miss her. She was such a good dog. But such is life and it was definitely a learning experience. Maybe next time we'll actually have a backyard if we decide to get another...that's a thought.

Well finals week is upon us and surprisingly Derek and I are not stressed! Actually we have a lot of time on our hands. I've presented in all of my classes and finished my final projects and events. And GREAT NEWS!

Our group won the 1st place grant for the Family Crisis Center! (For Sis H's Persuasion class). We found out today. We are thrilled and so excited that we helped such a great cause.
Hard work really does pay off!

Today I also finished my Human Resource final. Three hours later..geesh. I was actually really excited to take the class but now that it's over, I've realized...I don't care so much for HR. Too many policies and protocols, etc etc. Again, live and learn.

Other than that, I have one last final for Brother Bean's Conflict Management class and then I'm OUTTA here. Well after I work commencement, like every year. I love walking the graduates though, into the I-Center. It's such a magical feeling. Makes me so excited to graduate and move on with life. Btw Congrats to my favorite people who are graduating...Mallory Guymon, Lorraine Engebretsen, Katie Turner, and Cole and Stacia Suter. You all have changed my life for the better and I'm so proud of you all!

Derek's almost done with his finals as well. He only has more one Anat and Phys test, which he will probably ace..again. He is a freaking genius when it comes to this biology stuff. Seriously he currently has a 101% in his Anat and Phys class...unheard of! He amazes me everyday.

Well such is life. California is quickly upon us, I can almost taste it! We can't wait to celebrate Derek's upcoming 25th Birthday in Oakland on Saturday as well. 25, woah baby. Am I really married to someone that much older than me?! It's okay, he's hot and smart. I just got so lucky!

In addition, my thoughts include:
  • Drinking eggnog in front of my fireplace
  • Spending time with my neices and nephews
  • Getting my hair dyed!
  • Flying on an airrrplane
  • Playing lots of JUST DANCE 3
  • Listening to as much Christmas music as possible and
  • Seeing all of my girlfriends back home
Happy Christmas everyone!

  2. It's good that Tally Got a new home, especially since we never showed her any attention, our yard was so small, even though it was over 2 acres of land, and we really sucked at taking care of her.You really should rethink things before you post them for everyone to see.We took good care of Tally and I showed her more attention at times then I did my own kids.Gee I use to feed her at 6:00 in the morning before I even feed my own kids.We loved her and whats done is done now,but don't accuse us of not taking care of her.Maybe next time you will think about it a little more before you go getting an animal you can't keep to start with.
