That's right, I'm blogging!
I know it's been forever but honestly blogging to me feels like writing in my journal and I haven't written in that since before Christmas..(until today!) So that should say something. But since maybe today being Sunday, I feel like I can catch up on the things I like to do. This being one of them, even though I'm sure it does not appear that way..Well so much has happen since my last post. I've changed my last name and have gotten a male roommate. Translation= WE GOT MARRIED!!!
In the beautiful Oakland, CA Temple.

August 14th was truly the best day of our lives. That day has started a wonderful 6 months marriage! Our honeymoon consisted of laying on the beach of San Diego, playing in Disneyland, attending a live viewing of "The Price is Right," and going to Las Vegas to see my all time favorite show, "The Phantom of the Opera!" Needless to say it was our best vacation yet!
As of lately, Derek is keeping busier than ever with basketball. I hardly can keep track his schedule between him reffing on campus or for the state of Idaho, working as a lead official (evaluating other refs on campus), playing intermural basketball with friends, playing competitive with the JV Bruins AND coaching the Varsity Bruins every Tuesday and Thursday night. He practically lives at the I-Center. Which is nice for me because it gives me more incentive to go work out. Since he's there, why shouldn't I be? Other than that, Derek has been rigorously studying Spanish literature (mostly poems) for Brother Rock's thrilling Spanish Literature Masterpeices class, (It even sounds fun doesn't it?). Good thing he's got his friend Cole Suter to keep him entertained. One of these days, I am going to post a "Derek and Cole Corner" which will contain their crazy stories, ideas and gestures. Trust me, you will find it most profitable for your entertainment and comic relief.
As for myself, I am also staying quite busy. I am taking 15 credits, working part time on campus as a Student Event Coordinator, working as a hot shot at Melaleuca and participating as the Activities Coordinator for the PRSSA chapter on campus. I also just received the opportunity to intern for the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce this next Spring! I am SO excited to start my internship and to have it SO close to home. I can also complete it while I am on track and taking classes, thus knocking out two birds with one stone. It's crazy how fast school is moving right along. A few days ago I sat down and wrote out my class schedules for my remaining semesters and if all goes according to plan, I should graduate Winter 2012. The plan is to go on Fast Grad this year and take classes on my off-track, which is the Fall. This way I can be done with school before Derek has to do his student teaching. We are excited for Derek's student teaching experience and look forward to the move and new place where we will go. Who knows!
Which brings me to my final thought for the day,
How can any of us (in college, newly married and/or almost graduated) truly know exactly where we will end up in life?
Yes I agree that we should have dreams and hopes for places we'll end up but in all honesty, how can we really know? My conclusion= We Can't! If we limit ourselves to, THIS is where I want to live and THIS is the career I want, then how can the Lord squeeze in what He wants us to do? I believe that we must create a plan of action, pray as we go and let the promptings of the Spirit act as our navigator. Just my two cents, take it or leave it :)
Thanks for stopping by, come back soon for the latest and greatest. We love you all!
