So Derek and I, and Chris and his family showed up to Amber and TJ's awesome house out on the Livestock Center owned by BYU-I. We grilled up some hamburgers, hot dogs and had the fixings to make it complete. JUST as we were about to sit down and eat...it started raining. Literally. We had our blankets and chairs out, all ready for our Summer BBQ and that is what Rexburg weather did to us. Not cool! But we didn't let that ruin our parade, we still sat out on the blankets and enjoyed talking and playing with Sydney our crazy adorable, two-year-old niece. To say the least, she was our entertainment for the night!
(("What are those white thing?"))
After dinner, we played some good ol' badminton. It was SO FUN! I hadn't played badminton since my Sophomore year in high school (yes, I took badminton as a PE class) and had really missed the sport! We played couples on their big green lawn and had a ball. Derek and I are still learning the strategy for it...but we got some pretty good shots in :)
After Badminton, Chris and Caroline took off, so we said said our "Adioses" and watched them drive away. Amber and TJ then took us out to see all the livestock! Cows, horses and sheep oh my! TJ said there are 55 horses living at the Center and we got to see them all! I loved petting them but not so much feeding them. Derek said you're suppose to hold your hand flat but every time I attempted to do so, I swear they were about to bite my fingers off! I couldn't do it. I tried. And failed. My method-hold the hay to the side and hope they pick up a straw or two.
After the field trip around the Center, we went back to the grill and roasted up some good ol' smores! There were delicious! Amber even taught me a new way to eat them..Instead of using plain Hershey's chocolate, use Reese' peanut butter cups! Oh my heaven!! They were SO GOOD! I seriously am doing that every time now. Thank you Amber!
(("No more smores, no more smores"))
We finished up the night by going inside and playing some good ol' games of Spoons and Catch Phrase. Jeff had never played Spoons before so we had to introduce it to him! Crazy right? Catch Phrase was way fun too. The girls kicked the boys butts- 2,1! I seriously want to get that game soon, it would be a great investment!

The night was a total success, despite the set back of the minimal rain. We ate, played and enjoyed the company of new friends. Bring on many more Summer nights!
